World’s most expensive barbecue plated in 24-carat gold comes for $165,000

I am pretty sure most of you had a fun barbecue Monday, considering the long Memorial Day weekend just passed by. If a replacement is what you want and need a little more shimmer, why not opt for something set in gold? Australian firm BeefEater Barbecues has just the thing for you as they are out with a gold spin-off of their Signature Series 6 Burner SL4000. The first of its kind, the gold plated grill (barring the cooking surfaces, of course), was created for the Sydney Home Show and had been tagged and verified as the world’s most expensive barbecue as early as November 2009.

The grill sports a six-burner barbecue along with a wok burner, and features quartz start ignition, warming rack, roasting hood, high-output burners and a vaporizer grid. Each of the hand-built grills priced at about $165,000 is “individually plated in 24-carat gold”.
