Imagine savoring malt that has been aging for 105 good years! Online retailers and independent bottlers from UK Master of Malt have launched what is said to be the oldest and the most expensive bottle of Scotch whisky, which came to light 8 months ago thanks to a Scottish historian Allie Sisell. The bottle was first distilled on the 17th February 1906 at the Aisla T’Orten distiller; the cask somehow survived a gutting fire.
The cask contains Sherry Butt with an outturn of just one bottle; the cask was sold to Master of Malt by Sisell for an undisclosed amount. This bottle of malt is priced at £870,000 ($1,405,400).
