Daimler’s Maybach superluxury sedans aren’t doing well in the market and the company was earlier busy drawing up a recoup strategy. The most obvious thing to do would be a price-slash to turn in some profits but Daimler has thought otherwise. It has instead increased the MSRPs on 2012 models by as much as $4,000 across the board. The premium isn’t so much that would deter their existing target group from buying a Maybach but the sheer courage for implementing a price rise on a product that isn’t doing well calls for some applause.
