Built to handle the Death valley heat and the New York snow – Pirelli has introduced the ultimate all-weather tire that has been exclusively developed for North America.

When it comes to the performance and quality of tires, very few brands come close to the standard set by Pirelli – the celebrated Italian manufacturer of premium high-performance tires. The Milan-based company is famous for making specialized original equipment tires for some of the biggest automakers, including Audi, Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz, and Porsche. Yet, its catalog extends well beyond products designed for luxury models and exotics; it also makes affordable tires for more moderately priced coupes, family sedans, SUVs, and trucks. Continuing to push the limits of tire technology, Pirelli has revealed a new range of tires developed exclusively for North America. Called the Pirelli WeatherActive, it is being touted as a true all-weather tire with unmatched performance and quality.

Pirelli claims the WeatherActive tires have been engineered to perform better than the traditional all-season tires and are capable of offering phenomenal performance in heavy snow as well as hot and dry conditions. The manufacturer also gives the example of New York which receives an average of 25 inches of snow every winter and also experiences extremely hot summers. The new range of tires by Pirelli has been engineered to provide ultimate performance all year around. This has been achieved with the help of a new type of compound technology that increases grip in not only snowy conditions but also in rain and slush. Furthermore, WeatherActive tires also feature a special tread pattern that provides more uniform stiffness, which helps increase durability.

“The introduction of the WeatherActive confirms our strategy of developing more products specifically for the North American consumers, who usually drive in a variety of weather conditions and want to have the peace of mind to count on just one type of tires,” said Claudio Zanardo, CEO of Pirelli North America. The new range of all-weather tires will be available in two versions: Cinturato WeatherActive designed for sedans and available in 16 sizes, and Scorpion WeatherActive for SUVs and light trucks which is available in 23 sizes. Pirelli is also offering a 60,000-mile limited treadwear warranty.
