Audi India has launched the A8 L facelift that comes with tweaked styling, 4- and 5-seat options, and a starting price of Rs 1.29 crore

The 2022 Audi A8 L has been officially launched in India at a starting price of Rs 1.29 crore for the base Celebration Edition, while the range-topping Technology Edition is priced at Rs 1.57 crore. This makes the Audi A8 L facelift significantly cheaper than its closest rivals like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (starts at Rs 1.6 Cr), BMW 7 Series (starts at Rs 1.4 Cr), and the Lexus LS (Rs 1.91 Cr). Just like the outgoing A8 L sold in India, the new facelift version will also be sold via the CBU route. The 2022 Audi A8 L arrives with subtle design tweaks, which include a restyled frontend featuring an updated singleframe grille. It also gets angled air intakes that are placed next to the fog lamp housings and feature chrome surrounds.

The base Celebration trim retains the HD Matrix LED headlights from the outgoing car, while the Technology Edition comes with Audi’s new Digital Matrix LED headlights that use micro-mirrors to project individual beams of light. Furthermore, the facelift comes standard with new 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and OLED taillights. The Technology Edition can be optioned with all-wheel steering and predictive air suspension that uses the front camera to check the road for imperfections and automatically adapts.

On the inside, the cabin design has not changed much. It comes equipped with a 23-speaker B&O sound system, 4-zone climate control, Matrix LED reading lights, and soft closing doors. The 2022 model retains the dashboard-mounted 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen along with the 8.6-inch display. Unlike the outgoing A8 L, the facelift model is available in a 5-seat configuration. The 2022 Audi A8 L is powered by the same 3.0-litre, turbo-petrol V6 engine with mild-hybrid tech found in the outgoing model. It produces 340hp and 500Nm of torque and is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
