Only recently I was asked about my ideal Summer vacation and instantly I envisioned myself lazing on white-washed sandy beaches, engrossed in the soothing sound of the waves. Just as I begin planning my Summer, TripAdvisor did me a favor by compiling a list of the best beaches in the world for 2019.
Determined by the quality and quantity of traveller reviews and ratings of beaches on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period, the best beaches awards cover the top ten beaches in 2019. We had similarly covered the best beaches by Tripadvisor in 2017.
Interestingly in 2019, majority of the beaches are nestled in North and South America, with only one award going to Europe.
10. Seven Mile Beach, Negril, Jamaica
If you plan on visiting the tropical island of Jamaica, a visit to the Seven Mile is imperative. Once occupied by pirates, this sparkling beach occupies the 10th position on the list.
9. Playa Norte, Isla Mujeres, Mexico
The five-kilometre long beach is dotted with palm trees, restaurant and bars just north of Cancun. Almost every nook and corner serves exquisite seafood, with stunning views of the sunset.
8. Seven Mile Beach, Cayman Islands
If the picturesque sunset of Cayman Islands is on your holiday agenda, you must visit the Seven Mile Beach. Lined with palm trees and restaurants, the Seven Miles Beach is extremely popular.
7. Spiaggia dei Conigli, Lampedusa, Sicily, Italy
Who ever said that a gorgeous beach needs to be perfectly contoured; the rugged terrain of Spiaggia dei Conigli adds to its unique persona.
6. Clearwater Beach, Florida, USA
The soothing crystal clear waters of the Florida draw tourists and surfers from far and wide. True to its name, the clear waters surrounding this part of Florida is almost surreal.
5. Grace Bay, Providenciales, Turks and Caicos
Part of the remote Turks and Caicos island, Grace Bay is inundated with resorts and hotels. Renowned for its tropical reef just a few metres from the shore, Grace Bay is extremely popular with divers.

Awarded Europe’s beach for the second time in the row, the beauty of La Concha Beach will amaze you. Visitors can cherish its picturesque beaches that have almost 1,500 metres of sandy shores.
3. Eagle Beach, Palm, Aruba
The powdery white sands of Eagle Beach make for the ideal sunbathing destination. Known for its low-rise resorts and beach bars, Eagle Beach ranks third on the list.
2. Varadero Beach, Varadero, Cuba
Immerse yourself in 20 km of sandy white sand in Cuba. The Varadero Beach has beautiful warm water, thanks to its tropical climate.
1. Baia do Sancho, Fernando de Noronha, Brazil
Constantly ranked as the best beach in the world, the Baia do Sancho is overflowing with pristine waters and white sandy beaches. The beach is also ranked as a UNESCO Heritage Site.
