Onitsuka Tiger has collaborated with Valentino for an exclusive sneaker

Can you guess what a marriage between Japan and Italy can look like? If you cant picture it, let’s make it easy by bringing the collaboration that’s got us totally excited at the forefront. Japanese sportswear giant Onitsuka Tiger is teaming up with Maison Valentino on a capsule of limited edition sneakers. Never have I craved sneakers so badly in my life before. The collaboration is happening for the Autumn-Winter 2020 Paris Menswear Collection. For the occasion, you will see the creative director of Maison Valentino, Pierpaolo Piccioli, put his spin on the iconic Mexico 66 SD shoes. The classic shoe gets a makeover in several eye-catching hues like fluorescent yellow, hot pink, neon orange, and white combined with the Valentino V Logo on the side, which enhances the dynamism of color, and is an iconic element for the Maison. This climactic ‘V’ placed over the Onitsuka Tiger Stripe is hand-printed and is kept company by another co-branded logo that can be found on the shoe tongue as well as on the insole.

Loving what you’re seeing? The collection is expected to launch in summer 2020, so there’s going to be some wait to get your feet in these. More details like prices will crop around the time of release. However, we know these four models will be available in select Valentino retail stores worldwide and on Valentino.com. At Onitsuka Tiger, one model in the brand’s signature ‘tricolor’ will be available at select stores and online.
