Montblanc Summit Lite is the brand’s new entry-level smartwatch created especially for those who believe in healthy living

Montblanc has expanded its line-up of smartwatches by adding a new wallet-friendly version. Called the Summit Lite, it sits below the brand’s Summit 2 and 2+ models. The latest offering was leaked on the internet months before its official launch, giving us a fair idea of what to expect from Montblanc’s entry-level smartwatch. According to German luxury goods maker, the Summit Lite has been “built for those who strive for better health, physical performance and overall wellbeing.” It gets the same design as the other two Montblanc smart wearable models with a round case and a crown and pushers to make it look like a mechanical watch. Montblanc has also focused on sustainability while crafting the Summit Lite. The 43mm case is crafted out of recycled aluminum, while the watch arrives in sustainable packaging made from 100% paper.

The new Summit Lite is available in two finishes: sporty matte black and an elegant matte silver-grey. In addition to that, the watch can be had with either a sporty fabric or rubber strap, creating four different design variations. The Summit Lite comes equipped with a 1.19” AMOLED display with Gorilla Cover Glass and is powered with Wear OS by Google, which is compatible with Android and iOS smartphones. Disappointingly, the smartwatch runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor and not the new 4100 platform. It is compatible with the full Wear OS by Google ecosystem of apps and services, but Montblanc has developed proprietary apps for the smartwatch. “With the renewed focus on health, fitness, mindfulness, and wellbeing we are witnessing today, our goal was to create a smartwatch that had just the right tools to support its owner throughout the day, in a way that was instinctive and effortless for today’s business lifestyle customer. Named Summit Lite after its lightweight design, it aligns with its wearer’s activities and is built for high performing individuals who are constantly on the move and blend their workout routine with their work routine,” said Nicolas Baretzki, Montblanc CEO. The Montblanc Summit Lite is available in selected markets from Montblanc boutiques and the official website and is priced at £700 (about $960).
