The latest kid on the block-Jean Claude Olivier, Spain’s much raved about beauty and hairdressing salon finally launched in India. Located on St Theresa Road, I dropped into the 3200 sq ft salon to put it to test. On offer are some opulent treatments like Gold Mani-pedi, Remi Laure Sugar treatment, Argan Spa, among others. But does the salon manage to dish out enough reasons for me to keep coming back? Read on…
You walk into the salon to be greeted by soothing and swish interiors which sets the tone for a perfect to pamper day. I start off with an Argan Spa. My stylist Rahul immediately makes me feel at home, taking great care throughout my session and advising me on how to maintain my tresses.
Furthermore, what’s interesting is the fact that Jean Claude Olivier, in fact, uses their own Spanish brand, Postquam in all their treatments and procedures. The hair spa is not a usual, cookie-cutter one. It throws in a good amount of scalp cleansing, hydration, and nourishment. Brownie points, a rejuvenating massage. It’s pretty extensive and by the end of it, my hair feels silken soft.
This is followed by a Postquam facial experience. It incorporates deep cleansing, scrubbing, pack and again amazing massage techniques by my therapist Shamim. What’s different about this one is that the facial leveraged a machine for the therapy which helps you relax and does deliver a glow. This is 60 minutes of pure bliss. Facial options range from a hydrating one to skin detox, soothing and calming, a signature Luxury Gold treatment and more. By the end of it, my skin is lighter and brighter, for sure.
The last treatment I put to test is a Gold mani-pedi-one of the more interesting variants of manicure and pedicure that I tried. Sushant who did my mani-pedi took me through the process first. It starts off with a soak in hot water, followed by the application of 1gm of Cutisof cream on and around the cuticle of every nail. The next step was the application of Gold Scrub (approx 5gms) on my hands and legs using effleurage massage techniques. This is a long stroke massage technique that was continued for over 5 minutes and then cleaned with normal water.
Then the massage cream was applied and an incredible massage followed. The next touch was a Gold Gel pack which was left for 15 minutes followed by a 24k gold foil application. And finally, the last touch was a gold serum and I could see a big difference for myself. I bid adieu to all the tan. Moreover, my hands and feet were glittering and shimmering as ever after the in-depth and well-done process.
My verdict :
Between the services, I had their aromatic Coffee. Being a coffee addict, I have to say that it is the best coffee I’ve had in a salon! Furthermore, having been a beauty and wellness junkie that tries world-class treatments every day, I have to say that this has to be one of my best experiences. The salon has enough to pamper you from head to toe. It left me feeling reborn and spoilt to the core. With bespoke services, chic interiors and great staff- Jean Claude Olivier is pulling off the beauty and wellness scene just right.
