Ferrari 12Cilindri is a stunning flagship super-GT with styling that pays homage to the iconic 365GTB/4 and an 819hp naturally-aspirated V12

Ferrari has revealed its newest front-engine flagship, and it’s an absolute stunner! Behold the Ferrari 12Cilindri, a two-seat super-GT that oozes jaw-dropping Italian styling magnificence and is powered by a screamer of a V12. As the name of the model implies, the 12Cilindri is all about its stunning V12 engine. Believe it or not, even in this era of downsizing and electrification, Ferrari has managed to festoon a naturally aspirated 12-cylinder engine inside the engine bay without the need to add electric motors to meet stringent emission norms. That’s music to the ears of auto enthusiasts, just like the sound emitted by the super-GT’s V12. The 6.5-liter unit is the latest evolution of Ferrari’s F140 V12 that debuted in the Enzo over two decades ago.

Capable of redlining at 9500 rpm, the compact dry-sump V12 churns out 819 horsepower and a maximum torque of 500 pound-feet. Similar to the unit in the 812 Competizione, The V12 gets titanium connecting rods and a valvetrain that replaces the typical hydraulic lifters with a rigid system with roller finger followers.

The engine is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox mounted at the rear, which is claimed to offer 30 percent quicker shifts than the 812’s transmission. The 12Cilindri features a system called “Aspirated Torque Shaping,” which modifies the torque curve in the third and fourth gears with the help of electronics.

Ferrari has revealed both coupe and Spider versions of the model. The fixed roof 12Cilindri can accelerate from zero to 62mph in 2.9 seconds and has a 0-124 mph time of less than 7.9 seconds. The Spider variant is almost equally quick, with acceleration times of 2.95 seconds and 8.2 seconds, respectively. Both versions of the super-GT have a top speed of above 211mph. Coming to its design, the Ferrari 12Cilindri might appear very familiar to Ferrari fans; that’s because the modern GT’s styling is inspired by the iconic 365GTB/4 Daytona.

The design inspiration is clearly evident from the headlight design and the black panel ahead of the hood. The cabin’s design is very similar to the one found in Purosangue, except for the rear seats. There’s also a central infotainment display, which brings added functionality. As for the pricing, the coupe starts at $423,000, while the Spider variant has a starting price of $466,000.
